ARTIST'S STATEMENT
My style is realism; I've fine-tuned what I call a trained sensitive eye. My favorite subjects are candid portraiture, animals, landscape and antique architecture. My favorite subject matter is Western.
I was born is Framingham, Massachusetts. I started selling artwork in grade school. I am self taught with several inspirational artists workshops.
Beginning in 1983 I started my professional career with exhibits, over 74 national and International juried shows with 68 Awards and eight solo shows to date. I am in five international publications, including being a featured centerfold Artist including 13 paintings in the 1999 Winter Issue of Watercolor magazine, and a signature member, one of only 130 in the country, of the Miniature Artists of America. Eighteen past and present memberships and affiliations, 8 in N.Y. and 10 across the country.
In 2006 I felt it was time to reach outside my comfort zone of watercolors finally settling into pastels in 2008. Within the first year I was winning awards and in two years achieved the second level of status as Associate Member with my first submission to The Pastel Society of America.
Currently I have two private studios, one in our Florida home during the winter months and one in our North Carolina home where I work during late spring, summer and fall.
I enjoy creating art with great detail, beauty and emotion that draws you in and connects with your heart as it did when it first spoke to mine.
COMMISSIONS
If you would like to inquire about a commission, I would be happy to create something that would be exactly what would touch your heart. Animal portraits to a still life of your favorite things or a favorite memory, please contact me with your thoughts for your next beautiful painting.
